From direct experience with underground mining, through to supplying office workers, and more recently recruiting and labour hiring skilled migrants, Stevens Resources has a 25 year history of solving workforce problems through having a practical real world approach.

In our early days as a mining and drilling contractor, Stevens Resources undertook a range of projects at Olympic Dam in South Australia during the 1980’s including: hanging services, shot-creting, panther drilling, cable bolting, and underground secondary breakage.

This experience managing contracts and labour on mine sites in remote areas built the foundation for Stevens Resources enabling the development of an experienced management team, underpinned by systems and procedures built to satisfy real operational needs not just to look good on paper and in tenders.

Stevens Resources is managed by a team of people with many years experience and qualifications relevant to labour hire.

Founder and Managing Director Steven Thompson has extensive experience in labour hire and contracting particularly in the resource industry, marine, forestry, pulp & sawmilling, general engineering and machining.  He has nearly twenty years experience working in contracting undertaking a wide range of projects requiring the provision, management and supervision of work forces not just in Australia but overseas.

Steven Thompson’s broad range of business experience includes owning and operating a number of businesses covering a diverse range of industries.

The management team includes other specialists with specific skills in operations, site management, recruitment and training.

The team includes operations people with experience supervising trades along with considerable experience in supervisory and leading hand roles.

Stevens Resources is managed by people with: occupational health and safety qualifications, expertise, and an up-to-date knowledge of workplace issues and front line management.

Qualifications held by the management team include: Interview Techniques, OH&S for Supervisors, Workplace Assessment, Promoting and Evaluating Training, Preparing Training Programs, Adult Learners & Learning and Preparing Resources, and Train-the-Trainer Accreditation.

The experience and formal qualifications of the management team ensure that every labour hire or contracting assignment is managed professionally, efficiently and with a minimum of fuss.

Today Stevens Resources operates at Roxby Downs/Olympic Dam and supplies people and services to customers in the Adelaide metropolitan area.

Throughout our more than 20 year history, the key feature of Stevens Resources is our ability to adapt to the changing legislative, HR management, and industrial relations landscapes to provide our clients with a practical workforce solution so they can get things done.
